AFTERCARE

WHAT TO DO AFTER YOUR TATTOO:

• Keep the protective film (second skin) on for at least 24 hours or up to 3 days max. The film protects the new tattoo from friction and provides a waterproof, antibacterial barrier that also lets the tattoo breathe.

• Don't worry if you see the ink spreading underneath the protective film, it is normal ink residue.

• Take the film off under running warm water in the shower, so it comes off easily. Gently clean with water and unscented mild soap and softly pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel or let it air dry naturally.

• You can now start putting cream on your tattoo to keep it moisturised. Wash your hands before applying any cream; we recommend using Palmer's Unscented Cocoa Butter 2-3 times per day.

THINGS TO AVOID WHILE YOUR TATTOO IS HEALING:

• No soaking your tattoo in the bath (showering is fine)
• No swimming

• No shaving the area
• No tight clothing to avoid friction on your tattoo
• No fake tan, perfumes or scented lotion with chemicals
• No sun beds, keep the tattoo covered if you're in the sun (wear SPF when it's healed)

• No sports activities for at least one week
• No scratching or rubbing your tattoo (if it feels dry or itchy, cream will soothe it)
• Wear rubber gloves when cleaning/washing dishes (if it is a finger/hand tattoo)

The tattoo should be healed within 3 weeks, but every tattoo is different. Try to be clean and mindful of your new tattoo, practicing a good aftercare routine.

If the tattoo needs a touch-up after its healed, please contact your artist directly and include a photo.

Please seek medical advice immediately, if you show any signs of an infection.
